about

"None Of These Songs Are About You, But Some Of Them Might Apply" was recorded in the run-up to a series of gigs with Alex Day and Tom Milsom. A limited physical run was produced, but due to astounding demand the EP was made available for digital download.

The EP showcases a distinctive sound that clearly highlights the collaborative work of Eddplant and producer Tom Milsom, who was instrumental in the arrangement of all songs.

Track Name: You Are Not The Voice In My Head
I talked to you last night,
in my head
You told me it's alright
It's okay
I tried to change your mind
about me
And you told me

You can't change me
So don't change me

I started writing songs
in my head
I sang the songs to you
And you told me

That won't change me
You won't change me
Don't change me
Don't change me

And the beautiful words that I sang
in my head
And the reaction i imagine you had
It's okay
But you said
It won't change me
You won't change me
And I said
I'm not trying
Track Name: Less Than This
Which part of
taking this slowly
were you not paying
careful attention to?
You've built up
a strong relationship
based on fiction
I never encouraged you

Can't we take a normal path?
You're moving much too fast

I want less than this
It's gone way too far
I want nothing more
than the sound of you breathless
Can this go back a step
or do I have to leave?
You could care less about me

This started
all hands and whispers
And that's the way I
wanted it to stay
It's clear that
you misinterpreted
my intentions,
And I can't deliver

I want less than this
It's gone way too far
I want nothing more
than the sound of you breathless
Can this go back a step
or do I have to leave?
Oh please, care less about me

I want less than this
It's gone way too far
I want nothing more
than the sound of you breathless
Can this go back a step
or do I have to leave?
Be more careless about me
Track Name: You're Not There
Pour words over me
and all around, the ripples
rock the boat
I favour entropy
a slow decline, before I
have to go
Don't take it out on me
it's just revenge, and you're
the instrument
Your actions guarantee
an end to this, but
will you ever know?

And I walk home
as the sun goes down
and listen for your voice
But you're not there to call me
I forget sometimes

In the aftermath
I fall through stages, fitting
more of grief
Unrehearsed, they seem
to stutter past, a shuffled
deck unsheathed
Acceptance bows to discontent,
a sense of mourning
troubles me
Quick anger rears it's head
and settles down, replaced by
disbelief

And I walk home
as the sun goes down
and listen for your voice
But you're not there to call me
Track Name: The First Star
Do you remember
That cold november night
I held you close
Evenings in revelry grow old,
but your words forever soothe me
Is it you that's making this hard?
I can't imagine moving on

Star light, star bright
The first star you see tonight
may not be a star
And wishing never gets you that far

It's not a matter of
"who loves whom",
I think we're both agreed
that love's not on the cards
We're talking chemistry
and open-ended conversations
I never promised myself to you
But I wish you would

Star light, star bright
The first star you see tonight
may not be a star
And wishing never gets you that far

Star light, star bright
The first star you see tonight
may not be a star
And wishing never gets you that far
But if it could, you know I would
wish for you
And wish that you'd wish for me too
